- Like the first two trailers, the three-and-a-half minute trailer received mixed reviews.
- Film critic Roger Ebert called the film "extraordinary" and gave it four stars. - Todd McCarthy of Variety praised the film, stating, "The King of the World sets his sights on creating another world entirely in Avatar, and it's very much a place worth visiting.
